A Day Trip to The United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y. So Special !

I highly recommend a day trip to the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY  the next chance you get. I have visited there several times. West Point was the place to go for the July 4th spectacular 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America spending time with the cadets in their bright well pressed uniforms, visiting with their families and engaging in conversation with the new class of 2030.

Great patriotic entertainment by the very talented cadet orchestra and choir. You can sit in the audience or on a blanket or beach chair on the grassy hillside overlooking the stage with the Hudson River in the background.

The show was naturally all about American patriotism, traditional military and American patriotic songs and music followed by a dynamic fireworks display over the Hudson River at the end of the show. There were drones flying over the Hudson near the stage and near the audience.

You can enjoy dinning at the Thayer Hotel either outdoors overlooking the Hudson River or indoors in a beautiful formal dining room setting for a nice prime rib or fish of the day meal. Prices are reasonable. You can spend part of the day touring but best to call ahead for hours and any special events for the public.

For general inquiries  call (845) 938-4011.

Just 1 hour and 20 minutes from Queens, NY  to 606 Thayer Road in West Point, NY. Always call ahead for information!

We made the trip last year, this year and will do it again next year or maybe for Thanksgiving or Christmas. It’s all free but for the restaurants. It makes you feel proud to be an American especially when you meet and engage in conversations with our great young future leaders.

The future of America is in good hands!
