* July 7th, 2009 Margaret Thatcher Prime Minister of The United Kingdom said “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money”.

* Friedrich A. Hayek, Co-winner of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics said “If socialists understood economics they wouldn’t be socialists.”

Friedrich A. Hayek is one of the most influential members of the Austrian School of economics, and in 1974 shared the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics with Gunnar Myrdal “for their pioneering work in the theory of money and economic fluctuations and for their penetrating analysis of the interdependence of economic, social and institutional phenomena.” He also received the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1991 from President George H. W. Bush.

* House of Commons, November 11, 1947 Winston Churchill Prime Minister of the United Kingdom said “Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the others.”

*   December 12th, 1987 President Ronald Reagan popularized the statement “Trust but verify”. He used this Russian phrase frequently.

However in  todays world I would change that to verify and then trust.
