Watching the Super Bowl’s half time show was not easy. I tried hard to enjoy Bad Bunny’s songs. I really wanted to. But Bad Bunny’s name lived up to his performance. I kept an open mind but couldn’t connect by singing along with the words that I did not understand or felt like dancing. My feet didn’t move, the body was still. Bad Bunny was BAD for main stream America and the worlds TV viewing audience.
The number one American watched TV show annually is the good old American Football Super Bowl not Spanish or Latino futbol or soccer. The largest audience most watched program in the entire country and the half time show was all in Spanish when there are only 40 million Spanish people here and millions of these very same Latinos don’t speak Spanish in the household.
310 million Americans don’t speak Spanish. This is supposed to be a tribute to American football and Americans not to Spanish people alone. Bad Bunny refused to perform in English and gave the middle finger to Americans. What other part of our culture are we giving up? Are we going the way of England?
Commissioner Rodger Goodell fell to the pressure by pandering to minorities whose players dominate the NFL’s game so Rodger went woke. White men can’t jump. They are afraid to be called racist. After all Rodger makes $40,000,000 + a year plus perks, power and fame. Rodger lost his set of balls like so many others especially the Democrats who love to pander for votes at any cost.
We need to protect American traditions and values but Rodger loves to kiss ass. Where is your manhood? American football is like American apple pie but now Rodger is serving up foreign flavors. Rodger needs to be proud of the culture that allowed him the privileges and opportunities he got not from Spain, South or Central America but right here in the good old USA.
Are we turning our 250 year old Judeo-Christian culture over to radicals as England has turned its culture over to radical Muslims of Islam?
There is nothing wrong with Bad Bunny but the World audience which the Super Bowl is viewed by has an audience much different than the demographics of Bad Bunny’s followers. His performance was good for his streamers and cult followers by their standards but not for the majority of viewers of various persuasions internationally.
I think you needed a more main stream performer to appeal to a larger audience and perform in English. Many American Spanish people especially their kids do not speak Spanish in or out of the home.
The NFL Super bowl game is supposed to be a family event in a country that speaks English namely the USA. The fowl language and dance movements were a bit obscene for a family audience. I had to chase my grandchildren out of the room . Bad Bunny turned it into a musical event of obscenities using bad words, grabbing his crotch, girls humping and bumping while dancing and at the same time most Americans including some Spanish did not understand what he was saying in Spanish. Good choice Rodger Goodell. We might as well have been in Spain or South America or at a local strip club.

My choices would have been more main stream and appealing to a larger American audience who could relate more. For Latin music how about Luis Miguel and the Mariachis, Julio Iglesia, Juan Luis Guerra,Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine; for rock and roll how about Steven Tyler, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones, Chicago, and so many great performers.
Rodger should have called up “America’s Got Talent’s” Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, Mel B, or Terry Crews. Roger Goodell has no backbone. He knows that White middle America won’t call him out. He took the easy way out. Can we call him a traitor?
