As devil’s advocate no pun intended if I can be so bold; All religions throughout the ages had in the past and some currently their radical fringe elements and histories of killing. Sometimes it’s not just the radical fringe elements but the main stream prelates, their flocks and followers. So throughout history religion has been very violent.

It’s true as Pope Leo XIV said Islam is a religion of peace we can learn from as are all religions for the most part but when you get a fringe religious lunatic like the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei the head of Iran’s morally corrupt government and his puppets, all bets are off as these zealots rule through fear and brutality.
There is good and bad in everyone and every religion.
