I had placed a complaint recently regarding my mail carrier who suspiciously had behavior that is unexplainable.
He put a batch of mail through the mail slot of my front door. He took one first class letter from the batch and deliberately put it out of sight on the garden hose next to the front door instead of through the mail slot with the rest of the mail. It turned out to be an important letter.
I filed an email complaint on the United States Postal Service website against the carrier at the Kew Gardens Hills post office and received a call from the Kew Gardens Hills post office but was not available to answer the call.
I was notified by email that since I did not answer the phone the case is being closed. I noted the time and number of calls from the Kew Gardens Hills post office made and saw there were 2 calls made to me within 1 minute of each other. I returned their calls 6 or 7 times but no one at the Kew Gardens Hills Post Office answered the phone.
On 5/7/26 at 3:56 pm I again called the Kew Gardens Hills post office and I finally got through and asked for the supervisor whose name appeared on the email as Saiful Islam but the girl who answered the phone Miss Hanson said he was not in.
I explained the situation and asked her for her title 5 to 6 times and each time she refused to tell me by pretending she did not hear me but I persistently kept asking till finally she said she was the supervisor. Perhaps she wasn’t and was covering for someone?
Everything is very suspect.
She seemed reluctant and careful to give as little information as possible as if she was protecting the mail carrier. Or maybe she was not the supervisor or why would I have to ask her for her title 5-6 times? She said she would have Saiful Islam the supervisor call me.
In the email of 4/18/26 they said they addressed the issue with the carrier and told him to put every piece of mail through my door slot. Yet what followed was my mail service got worse, was erratic and inconsistent with a decade of my experience as a recipient of mail which usually comes every single day with rare exceptions.
How did it get worse?
Number 1: I got no mail for 3 days in a row for the first time in decades.
Number 2: Some mail was put into and through the door slot and some in-between the door on the same delivery. That was never done before.
Number 3: Mail was left out on the stoop in the rain. This never happened before.
This apparently is retaliation by the carrier because of my complaint; so the carrier’s supervisor’s discussion with him had no effect on his behavior and it motivated him to what appears to me to “get even”.
If he is doing this after as the USPS email said he was talked to on how to deliver my mail and it would not happen in the future then he may be even holding back my first class mail or keeping ads and 2nd and third class mail. As it is apparent like any typical government employee it is almost impossible to be disciplined and they protect their own.
There is a need for the Postal Police and Investigators to get involved.
So whatever was said in their email was just to go through the protocol without any serious intentions or otherwise the mail carrier would not be playing around with my mail and perhaps he is mishandling the mail of others. Based on the mail carriers behavior their response to me rings hollow.
Copies of my complaint will be sent to the US Postal Service headquarters in New York and Washington D.C. as well a copy to their email at the Kew Gardens Hills Post Office. Why am I escalating this?
Because there was no real investigation and there was a weak reason not to call me back until someone reached me. And why didn’t they answer their phone on 5-6 occasions?
And finally the mail carrier retaliated instead of complying with the alleged supervisor’s discussion with him on how to do his job. He escalated his poor behavior after my complaint was made so I am escalating the complaint to a higher authorities which could include Queens News Channel NY1 local city, state and federal elected officials.
The local post office held a kangaroo court within their office where the mail came from and this will be communicated on many levels to the proper investigative authorities. The service was poor, the supervision was poor, the response was poor and the service got worse.
They apparently were just going through the motions to appease me. You don’t need a college degree to know how to deliver mail. You decide.
P/S I just checked the Service Request number 87502362 on the USPS website and the United States Postal service said it does not exist. Another reason to be suspicious.
